There is an abundance of fishing along the lochs, rivers and coast of the region, where bream, small brown trout, perch, pike, roach and salmon may be fished.  Loch Ken Holiday Park is a reputable fishing venue.  Barstobrick Visitors' Centre also caters for coarse fishing and its lochs and ponds are well stocked with a variety of fish.  For the beginner, coaching can be arranged, and permits can be bought on site.  The nearby Ken Bridge Hotel provides a welcome diversion of good food and drink for the thirsty angler.
